Jordan Daily – The European Union (EU) on Wednesday reiterated its opposition to the death penalty, calling it an “inhumane punishment” and “unacceptable denial of human dignity and integrity.”
The EU’s statement came in a tweet from its official account in Jordan, where the 4th Regional Congress on the Death Penalty in the Middle East is taking place.
“We are opposed to the death penalty in all circumstances,” the EU tweeted. “It is a cruel and inhumane punishment, representing an unacceptable denial of human dignity and integrity.”
