Jordan Daily – General Intelligence Directorate (GID) said it had thwarted a series of plots aimed at undermining national security, inciting chaos, and causing material damage across the kingdom.
In a statement on Tuesday, the GID said it had arrested 16 individuals involved in the plans, which it had been monitoring through detailed intelligence operations since 2021.
The foiled plots included the attempted manufacture of rockets using locally sourced and imported materials for illicit purposes, possession of explosives and firearms, and the concealment of a ready-to-use missile.
The Directorate also uncovered a project aimed at developing drones, in addition to efforts to recruit and train operatives both inside the country and abroad.
The General Intelligence confirmed that all cases have been referred to the State Security Court for legal proceedings.
