Huawei honors University of Petra at regional ICT competition ceremony

Jordan Daily –  Chinese tech giant Huawei has honored the University of Petra during the closing ceremony of its annual Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Competition for the 2024–2025.

Held under the patronage of Prof. Mamoun Al-Debi’i, Secretary-General of Jordan’s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, the regional ceremony brought together top universities from Jordan and across the Arab world.

The University of Petra was recognized for its active participation in the competition, which aims to develop students’ skills in networking, cloud computing, artificial intelligence, and technological innovation.

“The recognition reflects the quality of our academic programs and the university’s capacity to prepare students to compete in fields of technology and innovation,” said Prof. Mayyas Al-Rimawi, Vice President of the University of Petra.

He added that the institution encourages students to seize distinguished opportunities that enhance their readiness for local and international job markets.

The event was attended by Aiden Lee, CEO of Huawei’s Jordan office, along with representatives from Jordanian universities. Participating universities and student winners at both national and regional levels were awarded during the ceremony.
