Indonesian Embassy hosts coffee tasting in Amman to promote specialty producers

Jordan Daily – The Indonesian Embassy in Amman hosted a coffee-tasting event titled “Savor the Rich Heritage of Indonesian Coffee,” bringing together diplomats, business leaders, café owners and industry partners to promote Indonesia’s specialty coffee sector.

Indonesian Ambassador Ade Padmo Sarwono opened the event, joined by the ambassadors of Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei Darussalam, as well as the chargé d’affaires of the Royal Thai Embassy. The Embassy highlighted the support of Bunni Coffee co-founders James Lynes and Shireen Muhaisen for helping strengthen the presence of Indonesian coffee in Jordan.

Participants met three Indonesian producers showcasing distinct regional profiles. Kopi Sarongge of West Java presented environmentally focused production and a balanced cup profile. Masiyan Arabica farmers from East Java highlighted high-altitude plantations producing aromatic beans for specialty markets. Java Frinsa Estate from West Java introduced innovative cultivation methods that have raised its standing in Indonesia’s premium coffee segment.

Guests sampled coffees and spoke directly with producers about farming practices, sustainability efforts and processing techniques. Organizers said the event aimed to deepen appreciation for Indonesia’s coffee heritage, shaped by diverse growing regions and long-standing traditions.

The Embassy said it hopes the showcase will spur new business partnerships and strengthen economic and cultural ties between Indonesia and Jordan, while promoting the global reach of Indonesian specialty coffee.
