Jordan Daily – The parliamentary finance committee on Wednesday approved a draft law ratifying a loan agreement with Italy worth 50 million euros.
Committee chair Nimr Al-Sleihat said the concessional, non-conditional financing will support a project in the state budget, with a focus on funding Jordan’s digital transformation programme in the health sector.
He added that the loan reflects strong bilateral cooperation and supports national priorities under the Economic Modernisation Vision and public sector reform plans.
Planning and International Cooperation Minister Zeina Touqan said 60% of the financing is a grant, while the remaining 40% is a loan at 0.5% interest, repayable over 20 years.
