Jordan Daily – Interior Minister Mazen Al-Faraya said on Wednesday that members of the dissolved Muslim Brotherhood group were engaged in covert activities aimed at destabilizing the country and threatening national unity.
Speaking at a press conference today, Faraya said authorities had confirmed attempts by group members to undermine public order and national security. He added that, on the same night authorities announced the discovery of extremist cells, Brotherhood affiliates sought to destroy large quantities of documents from their offices in a bid to conceal illicit operations and external affiliations.
Faraya revealed that security forces had thwarted an explosives manufacturing and testing operation allegedly led by the son of a former Brotherhood leader and others. He said the individuals were planning to target sensitive sites and security agencies.
“These ongoing actions by the dissolved group pose serious threats to our society and endanger the lives of citizens,” he said.
The minister reiterated the government’s ban on affiliation with or promotion of the Muslim Brotherhood and its ideology, warning that violators would face legal consequences.
He also called on political parties, media outlets, and social media users to refrain from engaging with or disseminating content related to the group or its affiliated organizations.
