Jordan Daily – Jordanians on Friday mark the 64th birthday of King Abdullah II, recognizing his continued efforts in national development, diplomacy, economic resilience and service to the Kingdom and its people.
In 2025, the king conducted a series of field visits and inaugurated major economic, service and development projects, including the King Hussein Cancer Center building in Aqaba, two projects at Queen Alia International Airport, the National Seed Bank and Al-Mallaha housing in Deir Alla.
The king carried out 46 foreign working visits during the year, holding 255 meetings with world leaders and political figures. Key tours included an Asian visit to Japan, Vietnam, Singapore, Indonesia and Pakistan, and a European tour to Italy, Hungary and Slovenia, aimed at boosting economic cooperation, investment and regional stability.
King Abdullah also led Jordan’s diplomatic efforts in international forums, reiterating support for Palestinian rights and calling for alleviating the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. He received 108 heads of state and delivered nine speeches domestically and internationally.
Economically, Jordan showed resilience despite regional challenges, while the king ordered the formation of a National Council for Future Technology. Royal support for sports culminated in Jordan’s historic qualification for the 2026 World Cup.
