Lebanon says Hamas arrests linked to southern rocket fire, not Jordan

Jordan Daily – Recent arrests of several Hamas members in Lebanon were linked to security incidents in the country’s south, not to any Jordanian investigation, a senior Lebanese security source said on Wednesday.

The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the detentions followed the individuals’ alleged involvement in launching rockets from southern Lebanon, a region that has seen heightened tensions in recent months.

“These arrests are strictly related to internal Lebanese security matters in the south,” the source said. “Jordan has not sent any information to Lebanese authorities, made any requests, or shared any details regarding this issue.”

The source added that any information connecting the arrests to Jordan originated from media reports, with no official communication between the two governments on the matter.
