Thneibat, Shaldinbay eye stronger investment partnership in mining and fertilisers

Jordan Daily – Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) Chairman Mohammad Thneibat met Kazakhstan’s Ambassador Talgat Shaldanbay on Sunday to discuss expanding cooperation in phosphate fertilisers, JPMC said in statement.

Thneibat said the company is committed to strengthening economic and investment ties with Kazakh partners and is ready to pursue joint projects that boost value in both countries’ mining sectors. He highlighted JPMC’s strategy to diversify global partnerships, expand downstream industries and improve operational efficiency, in line with King Abdullah’s push to attract investment.

He said JPMC is prepared to support Kazakhstan’s Kazphosphate in developing phosphate ore resources and projects that meet domestic and regional market needs, and urged the Kazakh side to set a timeline for follow-up.

Shaldanbay praised bilateral relations and said Kazakhstan is keen to build a productive partnership with Jordan. He said his government is ready to arrange a Kazakh delegation visit to review cooperation prospects and tour JPMC facilities.

Both sides agreed to enhance communication between JPMC and Kazphosphate and explore future cooperation areas, including joint ventures and the use of Jordanian expertise and technology in phosphate processing.
