Jordan Daily – Jordan Meteorological Department said Wednesday that a depression centred south of Cyprus is bringing cold, cloudy weather and intermittent rain across much of the Kingdom, including Aqaba. Some showers may be briefly heavy with thunder and hail, raising the risk of flash floods in valleys and low-lying areas.
Conditions are expected to remain cold overnight, with southwesterly winds kicking up dust in the Badia.
The department warned of flash floods, thunderstorms, low visibility due to fog and dust, and slippery roads.
On Thursday, the depression is expected to deepen, resulting in colder, cloudy weather and continued rainfall in the north, centre and parts of eastern and southwestern Jordan. Heavy showers, thunder and hail remain possible, increasing flood risks in the Dead Sea and Jordan Valley regions.
