Jordan Daily - Japan has extended a grant worth $635,656 to World Vision Japan to implement a project aimed at expanding inclusive early childhood and primary education in eastern Amman, according to a statement released today by the Embassy of Japan in Amman.

The agreement was signed by Japan’s ambassador to Jordan, ASARI Hideki, and World Vision Japan project manager IKENOYA Rie under Tokyo’s Grant Assistance for Japanese NGO Projects programme.

The three-year initiative, titled “Inclusive Beginnings,” aims in its first phase to build a sustainable system enabling schools, communities and education authorities in East Amman to promote inclusive education. The area hosts a high number of refugees and people with disabilities.

The project will target 13 kindergartens and 20 elementary schools, ensuring children- regardless of disability or nationality-can access education and receive tailored support.

Japan previously funded a similar programme in 2025. Schools supported under that phase will now serve as model institutions, with trained teachers mentoring neighbouring schools.

The approach is designed to expand impact efficiently and embed long-term practices that sustain inclusive education beyond the project’s duration, the statement noted.
