Jordan Daily - Entry to this year's Jerash Festival for Culture and Arts will be free, with most cultural, artistic and heritage events open to the public at no charge, the festival's executive director, Yazan Al khadiri, said on Friday.
In a Facebook post, Al khadiri said free events would include performances at the Hippodrome, the Oval Plaza, sound-and-light shows, theatrical productions, children's activities, and poetry and literary evenings at the Temple of Artemis.
He added that the festival would also feature markets showcasing locally made products by women from Jerash and other Jordanian governorates, highlighting national crafts and goods.
To improve access, arranged round-trip transportation from several governorates to Jerash through a tourism transport company for JOD 6 per person, while a ride-hailing company will offer discounted fares.
Concerts by Jordanian artists on the North Theatre stage will also be free, although visitors must register online in advance to obtain a complimentary ticket. Performances organized by the Jordan Artists Association at the Roman Theatre and Al Hashemite Plaza
in Amman will also be free.
Tickets for performances on the festival's North and South theatres will start at JOD 15 for family and group categories, Al khadiri noted.
The festival's programme also includes literary forums, exhibitions of visual arts, monodrama performances and folklore shows at cultural centres across Jordan, including Petra.
The festival is scheduled to run from July 23 to Aug. 2, with the full programme available on its official website: https://jerashfestivaltesting.com/
