Jordan Daily – Kantar BrandZ, a global brand valuation organization, has released its 2023 ranking of the world’s most valuable brands.
Chinese automaker BYD has ranked among the top 10 companies in the automotive category, with a brand value of over 10 billion US dollars.
BYD, a Chinese multinational technology company, has advanced five places in the annual BrandZ Top 50 Most Valuable Chinese Global Brands ranking. The company is now ranked 22nd, with a brand value of $11.3 billion, according to a press release.
On June 15, 2023, Google x Kantar released a statement evaluating the global progress of Chinese brands across various industries. The report highlighted that BYD, a multinational company operating in the automotive, railway, renewable energy, and electronics sectors, climbed to the 22nd position in BrandZ’s annual list of the top 50 global Chinese brands. This marked a significant advancement of five places compared to the previous year, securing BYD’s sixth consecutive inclusion in the prestigious list since its inception in 2017.
BYD has established a strong international presence across six continents. Notably, the company achieved the title of the world’s best-selling renewable energy vehicle, with over 1.86 million vehicles sold in 2022. To date, BYD’s new energy vehicle (NEV) sales have surpassed 4.3 million units.
The company’s all-electric buses and taxis are now operational in more than 400 cities spanning over 70 countries. Additionally, BYD has expanded its NEV offerings to 53 countries since its launch in Norway in 2021, with vehicles now available in Japan, Germany, Australia, and Brazil , according to a press release.
One standout model, the BYD ATTO 3 car, has achieved remarkable success in terms of both sales figures and reputation in international markets. Designed specifically for the global market, the BYD ATTO 3 has become the best-selling electric car in Thailand for five consecutive months and has held the top position among EV models for cumulative sales from January to May in both New Zealand and Singapore. In occupied territories, the BYD ATTO 3 has also enjoyed seven consecutive months as the best-selling electric vehicle.
To further solidify its presence in the global market, BYD has devised plans to enhance local product availability while intensifying international collaborations. In September 2022, the company signed a contract with WHA Corporation Public Company Limited in Thailand, marking its first overseas investment in a vehicle factory. BYD is also actively pursuing relationships with leading industry partners, such as Shell, to enhance the customer experience throughout the shipping process.
