FM Safadi, Spanish and Armenian counterparts discuss Gaza ceasefire, aid delivery

Jordan Daily – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi held separate phone calls on Tuesday with Spanish Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares and Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan to discuss the Gaza conflict and bilateral ties, according to the foreign ministry.

Safadi and Albares reviewed efforts to secure a permanent ceasefire in Gaza and ensure humanitarian aid reaches the besieged enclave. Both voiced support for mediation led by Egypt, Qatar, and the United States, stressing the urgency of halting the war and opening all crossings for aid delivery.

The ministers reaffirmed the strong Jordan-Spain partnership and pledged to deepen cooperation across sectors.

In his call with Mirzoyan, Safadi discussed enhancing Jordanian-Armenian ties and ongoing efforts for a Gaza ceasefire. The two stressed coordinated international action to ease the humanitarian crisis.

Safadi also warned against escalating tensions in the West Bank, urging an end to Israeli measures that undermine a two-state solution. He called on the international community to press Israel to uphold the historical and legal status quo at Jerusalem’s Islamic and Christian holy sites.

Both ministers underscored the need to revive a credible political process to achieve lasting peace in the region.
