Jordan Daily – The Italian Embassy in Jordan and the Italian Trade Agency (ITA) in Amman launched the ninth edition of Italian Design Day on Wednesday at the University of Jordan’s Faculty of Arts and Design.

The event, moderated by ITA’s Elisa Salazar, featured opening remarks from Dean Ali Abu Ghanimeh, Italian Ambassador Luciano Pezzotti, and Vice Rector Nahed Emaish. Architect Alessandro Colombo delivered a keynote on this year’s theme, “Inequalities – Design for a Better Life.”

Presentations by University of Jordan professors Deyala Altarawneh and Mahmoud Jaran explored design’s role in social equity and the connection between design and literature.

The seminar concluded with the opening of the exhibition “Photography for Lifetime Achievement,” showcasing around 150 images of Compasso d’Oro award-winning designers, curated by the Association for Industrial Design (ADI).

The exhibition runs until March 9 and ties into major upcoming events, including the Triennale di Milano and Salone del Mobile Milano.
