Jordan Daily – Secretary-General of Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ambassador Majed Al-Qatarneh, met with Joe Hackett, Secretary-General of Ireland’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Thursday to discuss the strong bilateral relations between the two countries and their shared commitment to expanding cooperation across various fields.

Al-Qatarneh and Hackett also highlighted the need for an effective international initiative to push for recognition of the Palestinian state based on the two-state solution. They reiterated that this would secure the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people to establish an independent, sovereign state along the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, both officials stressed the importance of supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) in the occupied Palestinian territories, including East Jerusalem, and rejected recent Israeli legislation passed by the Knesset that threatens to curtail its activities.
