Jordan to restrict transit of old freight vehicles to Saudi Arabia

Jordan Daily – The Land Transport Regulatory Commission and Jordan Customs have jointly issued a circular announcing new restrictions on foreign freight vehicles transiting through Jordan to reach the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Effective of  August 1st, 2023 , the circular stipulates that foreign freight vehicles manufactured before 2004 will be prohibited from passing through Jordan en route to Saudi Arabia.

This decision aligns with the recent ruling by Saudi Arabia which mandates that no freight vehicle older than 20 years should be allowed entry into Saudi Arabia through Jordan or permitted to transit to neighboring countries, including those in the Arabian Gulf region.
