Jordan Daily – Foreign Ministry and Expatriates on Thursday welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron’s announcement that France plans to officially recognize the State of Palestine during the UN General Assembly in September.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ambassador Sufian Qudah called the move a “positive step” toward ending the occupation and realizing the two-state solution based on 1967 lines, with East Jerusalem as the Palestinian capital.
Qudah said the decision supports international efforts to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and statehood. He also emphasized the importance of the upcoming high-level international conference in New York, jointly chaired by Saudi Arabia and France, aimed at mobilizing global support for Palestinian recognition.
Jordan reaffirmed its commitment to working with regional and international partners to end the occupation and establish a sovereign Palestinian state.
