Jordan Daily – The Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces , His Majesty King Abdullah II inaugurated today the Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan residential city in Zarqa governorate.
The city, built on 288 dunums of land allocated to the Jordanian Armed Forces, comprises 1,032 apartments designated for members of the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army. This project was made possible by a grant from the United Arab Emirates.
During the inauguration, His Majesty, accompanied by Major General Youssef Ahmed Al-Hunaiti, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, received a comprehensive briefing on the project from Brigadier General Ammar Al-Sarayrah, the Director of Military Housing. The residential city features 99 buildings with apartments distributed strategically according to modern engineering and technical standards.
King Abdullah II toured several apartments and city facilities, including a mosque, commercial stores, recreational areas, and children’s play zones, encompassing a total area of 14 dunums. The location of the residential city, situated 20 km from the capital Amman , is conveniently close to the Hashemite University and the Zarqa-Mafraq road.
The event was attended by Major General Ahmed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, The Deputy Chief of Staff of the United Arab Emirates’ Armed Forces , Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, the Emirati Ambassador to Jordan , and several other high-ranking officers.
