Jordan Daily- Senate president Faisal al-Fayez met Canadian ambassador Louis-Martin Aumais on Monday to discuss bilateral relations and ways to strengthen cooperation, the Senate said in a statement.
Al-Fayez praised the high level of ties, saying relations are based on mutual respect and shared interests, and stressed the Senate’s keenness to enhance parliamentary cooperation, particularly in economic and investment fields and through activating bilateral agreements.
The talks also covered regional developments, with Fayez urging the international community to take practical steps to ensure Israel implements all provisions of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza as a step toward achieving peace in the region.
Aumais said Canada appreciates King Abdullah II’s efforts to promote peace, dialogue and regional stability, the statement noted.
