Jordan Daily – Public Security Directorate (PSD) said early Wednesday that a special security unit killed two fugitive brothers late Tuesday during a raid in Ramtha after they opened fire on officers.
In a statement, the directorate said the brothers, described as holding extremist beliefs and wanted in connection with “significant investigative cases,” began shooting heavily at the security force as it approached the site. Three officers were wounded and taken to hospital for treatment.
Security forces “applied rules of engagement,” the statement said, killing the two men, who had barricaded themselves inside the location and used their mother as a human shield. The force was able to remove her safely without injury.
Authorities said several firearms and ammunition were seized during a search of the site.
