Jordan Daily – Diplomatic efforts and statements are accelerating in search of a solution for the Gaza Strip, following U.S. President Donald Trump’s insistence on relocating its residents, a position the White House reaffirmed on Wednesday.
Amidst this backdrop, Egypt’s role has gained attention, with media sources revealing details of Cairo’s reconstruction plan for the war-torn enclave.
According to the sources, Egypt’s plan involves establishing safe zones within Gaza over the first six months, where residents would be relocated, followed by the construction of secure housing units over an 18-month period.
The plan also includes clearing debris from certain areas in Gaza during the initial six months, alongside deploying mobile hospitals and schools to serve the population.
In its broader strategy, Egypt aims to bring in 24 global companies and 18 consulting firms to execute the reconstruction projects, backed by Arab and European funding.
Additionally, the sources highlighted ongoing consultations between Egypt and Arab countries to organize a comprehensive Gaza reconstruction conference, with extensive European participation.
