Jordan Daily – The 11th Muscat International Film Festival, which will run from March 3 to 7 under the theme of Renewed Oman, held its media conference on Tuesday at the Oman film Society’s headquarters.
The festival will showcase the Sultanate’s unique filming locations, such as deserts, mountains, archaeological sites and valleys, and encourages filmmakers to make their movies in Oman.
The festival will also feature various competitions, including international and Omani categories for feature films, documentary films and animation films.
Seminars and workshops on how to obtain filming licenses in the Sultanate and other aspects of the film industry will be included in the festival.
Chairman of the festival and head of Oman Film Society, said the event, which started in 2000, was a leading film festival in the region and reflected Oman’s vision of achieving the aspirations of its people and enhancing the role of cinema and art in the economy and society.
