Jordan Daily – The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Amman marked the formal launch of the Philippine ASEAN Chairship 2026 alongside the unveiling of the official logo for the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Jordan.
The event brought together distinguished representatives from ASEAN Member States and ASEAN Dialogue Partners, as well as officials from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Embassy personnel, and media partners, the Embassy said in a statement.

In his opening remarks, Ambassador Wilfredo C. Santos highlighted the significance of the Philippines’ ASEAN Chairship under the theme “Navigating Our Future, Together.”
He emphasized the Philippines’ commitment to advancing peace and security, promoting economic integration and innovation, and empowering communities across Southeast Asia.

The official ASEAN Chairship 2026 logo features the rice stalk, representing abundance and food security; the weave pattern, symbolizing interconnection and unity; the wave, reflecting maritime cooperation; and the traditional Filipino boat, the Balangay, illustrating
collective journey and shared purpose.
Ambassador Santos also underscored the historic milestone that the Philippines and Jordan will celebrate in 2026—the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, a milestone marked by decades of cooperation in diplomacy, trade, culture, and people-to-people exchanges.
To symbolize this enduring partnership, the Embassy presented the official commemorative logo for the 50th anniversary of Philippine-Jordan diplomatic relations.

Inspired by the combined colors and symbols of the national flags of the Philippines and Jordan, which represents the strong friendship, shared values, and mutual respect between the two nations.
Together, the ASEAN Chairship logo and the 50th anniversary commemorative emblem celebrate the Philippines’ journey both regionally and bilaterally, marking its leadership role in ASEAN and the enduring partnership with Jordan, while signaling a future of
cooperation, dialogue, and shared progress.
As the Philippines prepares to lead ASEAN in 2026 and mark the 50 years of diplomatic relations with Jordan, the Philippine Embassy reaffirms its commitment to strengthening regional cooperation, fostering meaningful partnerships, and expanding opportunities for shared progress, the statement noted.
