Jordan Daily -  The British ambassador to Jordan, Philip Hall, has announced updates to the United Kingdom’s visa application process, introducing a fully digital system that will apply to all new applicants effective immediately.

In a video published by the British Embassy in Amman on Thursday, seen by Jordan Daily, Hall said applicants will continue to submit their visa applications online as before. However, once they receive their reference number, they will now be required to create a UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) account through the government’s eVisa platform.

If a visa application is approved, travellers must log into their UKVI account to generate a “share code,” a mandatory step required each time they intend to travel to the United Kingdom, he said.

Hall said the updated system was designed to enhance security for both travellers and British authorities.

Under the new procedures, applicants will no longer receive a visa sticker in their passport. As a result, Jordanian citizens will not need to leave their passports at the visa application centre, a change the ambassador said would make travel planning easier and streamline the process.
