Jordan Daily – Prime Minister Dr. Bishr Al-Khasawneh confirmed that talks held with Iraqi counterpart, Muhammad Shia’a Al-Sudani, in Baghdad yesterday, resulted in a consensus to raise the quantity of oil purchased by Jordan from Iraq.
The agreed-upon increase will see the daily oil imports increase from 10,000 barrels to 15,000 barrels, effectively addressing a part of Jordan’s daily oil demand amounting to 134,000 barrels.
The Iraqi side demonstrated willingness to entertain Jordan’s request to benefit from Iraqi expertise in mineral and oil exploration. Moreover , discussions included the possibility of utilizing Iraqi expertise in these sectors, aimed at further bolstering Jordan’s resource management capabilities.
