Umniah signs five-year network upgrade agreement with Ericsson

Jordan Daily – Telecom operator Umniah has signed a five-year strategic partnership with Ericsson to modernize and expand its radio access network across the kingdom, the company said on Wednesday.

Under the agreement, Ericsson will be the exclusive provider of network upgrade works, supporting Jordan’s efforts to strengthen its digital infrastructure and accelerate digital transformation.

Umniah said the project will deploy the latest 3G, 4G and 5G radio technologies to boost network efficiency and performance, keeping pace with the rapid growth in data consumption.

Umniah CEO Faisal Al-Jalahma said the partnership marks “an important step toward building a more efficient and sustainable network capable of meeting rising user demand and enhancing the digital experience kingdomwide .”

Kevin Murphy, President & Head of Customer Unit North Middle East at Ericsson, said the company is  pleased to expand its cooperation with Umniah, adding that the deal will support 3G and 4G services and enable the rollout of advanced 5G technology across Jordan.
