Jordan Daily – Washington and Moscow agreed to hold separate talks on Iran during last month’s high-level negotiations in Riyadh, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s foreign policy aide Yury Ushakov confirmed Tuesday.
Senior US and Russian officials met in Saudi Arabia for the first major talks since the Ukraine conflict escalation in 2022.
US President Donald Trump has re-imposed heavy sanctions on Iran, pushing for a return to “maximum pressure” to curb Tehran’s nuclear program and regional influence. He also expressed interest in revisiting a nuclear deal.
No date for the talks has been set, according to Ushakov.
